LOTUs Envy
September 16, 2019

For eight weeks we have explained the importance of LOTUs in monitoring the performance of your company’s Internet service. If the success of your business is dependent on a fast, consistent network, it’s imperative that you have, at the least, a layman’s knowledge of what’s going on.

It’s a competitive world out there and your business needs every advantage you can get. You don’t have to be an IT specialist, or even employ a network administrator, to keep on top of the health of your network and to know whether or not it is impacting your business.

If you’ve had the time and interest to follow our blog for the past nine weeks, consider this from a current JitterWorks client:

“I have a growing software development company operating in two locations. We do a lot of video conferencing and use VoIP for our phone services. Our Internet connection and speed is crucial to the success of our business. Having the JitterWorks NPM monitoring our system has been great. We don’t have a dedicated network administrator on site so the alerts and notifications we receive are very important. I love knowing how my network is performing!”

This owner sleeps better at night because he knows what’s going on with his network. So will you.

Let’s go back to our August 26 blog “Hello Earth!” for a moment. Remember we related a story about a business owner who’s POS system was down when the doors opened. We won’t go into all the details here, you’re welcome to read the blog. In a nutshell, she got the runaround from both her POS software provider and her ISP. Until a $95 an hour network consultant confirmed that her problem was with the software provider. She would have known that hours, and hundreds of dollars, earlier if she had a simple, easy to understand, network performance monitoring service at the time.

Popular technology sites often stress the importance of having your IT team constantly monitoring your network performance in order to respond to problems and come up with solutions in a timely manner.

This makes a lot of sense and would certainly solve your performance monitoring needs. Unfortunately, not every business has an IT team. It is more likely you would have a designated employee who is in charge of managing your network. It would be a small part of their daily duties. She or he would certainly not have the time to “constantly monitor” your network performance.

So don’t let technology jargon, the complicated graphs and the indecipherable dashboards discourage you from finding a network monitoring service that works for you. There are solutions out there that will suit your needs.

Be the business that monitors LOTUs and uses that information to ensure that your network is working for you. Not the business that wishes they would have.

As always, if you think your business can benefit from a network performance monitoring system, click here to contact JitterWorks.
